According to news agency ANSA, fourth official Marco Serra has been deferred to the Disciplinary Commission for violating ethics rules after the investigation into his touchline row with Roma coach Jose Mourinho.

The incident occurred during the Giallorossi’s 2-1 Serie A defeat away to Cremonese.

Mourinho was furious, insisting that Serra had insulted him and the response to get himself sent off was entirely justified.

The coach was originally given a two-match ban, which was suspended on appeal pending an investigation.

That has now been completed and according to the first reports, it is not good news for Serra.

It’s suggested the official has been deferred to the Disciplinary Commission for violating Article 4 of the justice system code and the Referee’s Association code of ethics.

Serra has five days to present his defence or request the paperwork.

Mourinho, Serra and others who were in the vicinity of the discussion had been called in over the last few days to give their testimony.
