Roma had over 30 shots on goal this evening, but failed to score due to a combination of poor finishing and Salvatore Sirigu heroics.

“It was not an attitude issue, as the team did many good things, including 31 shots on goal, but the ball didn’t want to go in.

“I don’t think we had a great performance, but we did create the chances to score goals,” the coach told DAZN.

“We had difficulties in building the moves out from the back, but still created three scoring opportunities in the opening seven minutes and one of those in would’ve changed the game.

“In the second half, we corrected a few things and did better. I think we could’ve played for well over 90 minutes tonight and it still wouldn’t have gone in.”

For all Roma’s chances, it’s worth noting that Torino hit the woodwork twice with Belotti too.

“We had difficulties on the corridor down the right, as Torino put several players into Alessandro Florenzi’s area and are very strong on the counter-attack. We should’ve kept it tighter in some moments, but when we had so many chances, it became difficult to then defend tighter.

“I expected Torino to play like this, defending and counter-attacking, so that was no surprise.”
