Ultras from both clubs boycotted the game in protest at the barriers dividing the Curva Sud and Nord sections, but the team was accompanied to the stadium by a moped motorcade.

“We won this game for all the fans, including those who stayed away, who decided not to come, who saw us from home and those who supported us at the hotel,” Florenzi told Mediaset Premium.

“This victory is for all Romans. Roma and Lazio have great supporters and it’s a great shame to see the stadium like this. I hope the authorities can sort this out as soon as possible.”

Roma remain one point behind Inter and await Fiorentina’s result away to Sampdoria tonight.

“The tournament is still long and if we’d lost today it wouldn’t have changed anything in the title race. Now we just want to enjoy this moment.”
