Alessandro Florenzi outlines how Francesco Totti “entered into many of my dreams” throughout his Roma career. “What more could I have asked for?”

Totti hung up his boots in May with an emotional goodbye at the Stadio Olimpico after 25 years in the Giallorossi jersey.

“He entered into many of my dreams. I saw him when I was a ball boy. On my debut, I came on to replace him,” Florenzi told La Stampa.

“He entered into many of my dreams. I saw him when I was a ball boy. On my debut, I came on to replace him,” Florenzi told La Stampa.

“He provided the assist for my first goal. What more could I have asked for? I was fortunate to live through Francesco’s career and that goodbye that was so touching for anyone who loves football.

“Now I’ll get to experience Totti as a director and I’m sure he will do his best for Roma, as he always has done.

“I remember on my debut, Francesco came off the field and smiled at me to break the tension, which obviously was all mine.

“At the start it was anxious in training, because I was afraid of making a mistake, but Totti and Daniele De Rossi have always been phenomenal at helping put young players at ease.

“Totti is a player with eyes in the back of his head, he is able to know what’s going on even before it’s happened. That is my definition of talent.”
