“It comes at the best time,” Florenzi told Sky when asked about the match.

“We have great awareness of our abilities and we don’t want to stop. We performed in the first leg, but we didn’t get the result.

“Inter are a great team with a great Coach. It won’t be a decisive clash for the Champions League.”

The Lupi have won eight Serie A games in a row, and Florenzi puts that streak down to the work of returning Coach Luciano Spalletti.

“The results are explained by work, game after game. Now we want to win as much as possible. Spalletti has brought his own methods, character and style of play and we respond to what he asks.

“He has created a way of being both on the pitch and off, as well as fixing the defence and adding attacking schemes.”

Finally, the versatile 25-year-old discussed Italy’s prospects at this summer’s European Championships.

“I hope to be able to help Italy,” Florenzi said.

“It’s a point of arrival, but a starting point at the same time. I hope to go to France with [Daniele] De Rossi and [Stephan] El Shaarawy.”
