Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi has spoken of the pride he feels playing for the club he supported as a boy.

The 21-year-old, who came through the club's youth academy, has played a major part for the Giallorossi this season, appearing in 24 League games so far.

And the Italy international has described what it's like starting for his favourite team, as well as commenting on his assets, his weaknesses and his idol.

“Wearing this shirt is a source of great pride for me,” he told the club's official website. “Perhaps my eagerness to do well for the club is what has let me down so far.

“But I think my main strength is the way I assert myself on the game without the ball.

“My idol is Fabregas,” he added. “And my favourite Roma team is the one led by Luciano Spalletti.”
