Sergio Floccari sees the Emilia-Romagna derby with Bologna as the perfect chance for his Parma team to end the first half of the season on a good note.

Despite just one win in their last eight games, three points for the Gialloblu in the Sunday lunchtime kick-off would see them at least maintain the healthy seven-point advantage they currently hold over the relegation zone.

“We are at the halfway point,” began Floccari in looking ahead to the derby with local rivals Bologna.

“It is a very important match for it will be a pretty good opportunity to close the first round of fixtures positively.

“Bologna have players of great experience mixed with some great young prospects, it will be a challenge.

“What would I want to forget about the first half of the season? No, I think that even the errors and negative instances help us to understand where to improve. We carry with us everything that is good and bad.”

Roberto Donadoni was brought in to replace Franco Colomba last week and won on his debut last Sunday. The forward, who played a majority of the first game under the new Coach, reflected upon the change made.

“I was always happy under Colomba, like the rest of the team were. Unfortunately, when there are difficult times, it is customary that the first person to pay is the Coach.

“[Donadoni’s] game system is not more demanding [for me] than Colomba’s. The formations have an influence up to a point. What matters is the space [between everyone] and that each player plays their part.”
