Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini believes he can help his younger teammates at the club mature.

The 28-year-old signed a new one-year contract at Milanello in the summer and he’s keen to make a difference at San Siro – on and off the pitch.

“I can be like a big brother amongst these young talents,” the Frenchman told the Corriere dello Sport on Friday.

“Young players have quality because they take to the field of play without asking themselves too many questions. They play naturally.

“The only negative is that they lack experience of great competition.

“Focusing on youngsters and players with experience is the way that you can get the best results.”

The former Arsenal man, who had his injury problems last season, has only played in six League games this term.

“I’ve been waiting for the Coach’s consideration for some time and now that has arrived,” he added.

“Transfer offers? Yes, I’ve had some, but nothing interesting.”
