However, the young Argentine was substituted after the half-hour mark as punishment when he lashed out with an elbow on Boden.
Pjanic got on the scorehseet himself with a fierce right-foot strike from the outside edge of the box, then Mattia Destro chipped the goalkeeper for a fourth.
Florenzi completed the Roma rout in the second half with an angled drive, making the most of his experimental position in the trident attack.
Zdenek Zeman’s men resume their Serie A season on Sunday evening with a trip to Napoli.
