Junior Firpo is emerging as the key for Barcelona to secure Lautaro Martinez, but Inter and the Blaugrana have a very different view of his transfer value.

The Catalan club is not prepared to activate the €111m release clause, so is trying to negotiate directly with Inter for striker Lautaro Martinez.

Although there is also interest from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool, it’s no secret that the Argentine favours Camp Nou for his next destination.

Although there is also interest from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool, it’s no secret that the Argentine favours Camp Nou for his next destination.

That is not only because they are offering €12m per season net plus bonuses, but also for the prestige of playing alongside Lionel Messi.

According to Sport newspaper, Nelson Semedo and Junior Firpo are the only players both clubs can agree as potential exchanges in this deal.

However, FCInterNews.it point solely to left-back Firpo, who turns 24 later this summer and was purchased from Real Betis for €18m last year.

Firpo has made only 17 competitive appearances for Barcelona this season, contributing one goal and one assist.

The issue is that while Barcelona value Firpo at €30m, Inter consider his status far closer to €20m.

It’s believed a deal could be done for Lautaro Martinez for €90m cash plus Junior Firpo, whereas Barcelona are currently offering €75m and the Spaniard of Dominican descent.
