“Today the Patron Andrea Della Valle, the President Mario Cognigni and technical director Pantaleo Corvino met together and in liaison with the team manager Giancarlo Antognoni and, from abroad, Diego Della Valle,” read a club statement.
“The owners are absolutely not willing to accept what’s been happening for some months now.
“The team must get back to being what they were: competitive, brave and proud of the jersey they’re wearing.
“What we’re seeing now isn’t the Fiorentina we saw in the first part of the season. The club asks everyone to show great respect for the jersey and great objectives that can still be achieved before the season is over.
“Commitment must be total on the part of everyone. The club also ask Coach Pioli to manage this period with the competence and sincerity he showed in the first half of the season.
“Now we need conviction and pride from all those who take to the field, to try to bring home results that are absolutely within reach.
“The club remain convinced that they have a strong team, made up of professionals of excellent quality, who are respectful of the shirt they wear.
“Now it’s necessary for all this to be confirmed by positive results, which we all expect, and everyone will have to take responsibility for their work.”
The former Lazio and Inter boss is expected to leave once his contract expires this summer after a run of just one win from 11 games, despite taking the Tuscans to the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
A decision will be made on Tuesday over whether the side will go ‘in ritiro’ – a punitive training camp.
