Fiorentina have posted a profit of €35.5m for last season, with record revenues in part due to player sales.

The Viola started the season with almost an entirely new squad, having sold the likes of Federico Bernardeschi, Nikola Kalinic and Borja Valero.

That has had a positive effect on the balance sheet, with the Tuscan club posting a profit of €35,573,227 up to December 31, 2017.

That has had a positive effect on the balance sheet, with the Tuscan club posting a profit of €35,573,227 up to December 31, 2017.

That’s a huge turnaround from the €2,736,769 in the previous financial year and was helped by a record revenue of €184,779,269, an increase of 36.4 per cent.

Part of the reason for that is a record profit on players of €88.7m, up from €31.8m in 2016.

Revenues from ticket sales dropped 11 per cent thanks to cheaper season tickets and a lack of European competition, but sponsorship revenue rose 13 per cent.

Personnel costs – largely meaning player wages – fell from €137.6m to €128.9m, meaning wages are now 66 per cent of turnover as opposed to 70.
