Speaking at the official presentation of Viola legend Giancarlo Antognoni's new book, the DS discussed a range of topics, from Franck Ribery to coach Montella, to a possible bid for Florenzi.

Ribery's suspension is set to end and the former Bayern Munich player will be back for the game against Verona.

"He [Ribery] is a very important player, not only from a technical point of view but also for his charisma and experience," Prade told reporters at the book presentation.

Asked about a potential bid for Florenzi, Prade was coy on the topic.

"All I can say is that there is a lot of hot air in this period, with the transfer window 40 days away. I have a great effection for Florenzi, I gave him his first contract [at Roma], I love him, but he is a Roma player and I haven't talked to him, or Roma or his agent."

Fiorentina went through a sticky patch in the weeks leading up to the international break, only winning once in their last five games, so is Montella's job under threat?

"We are happy with Vincenzo's work. Before Cagliari there were excellent performances, so I cannot understand this negativity surrounding him. He is doing a good job."

The Viola sit ninth in the table.
