Things have not gone to plan for Luka Jovic in Florence and Fiorentina are looking to sell the former Real Madrid forward after just six months.

The 25-year-old Serbian striker signed a two-year contract with the Viola in the summer after joining from Los Blancos on a free transfer. Once highly touted for his work with Eintracht Frankfurt, Jovic struggled to match expectations in Spain after his €63m move and his stock has rapidly fallen over the last few years.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jovic has failed to impress in Florence and Fiorentina are hoping to sell him in this month’s transfer window. It won’t be easy, however, as the 25-year-old earns around €2.5m net per season and 50% of any sale would go to Real Madrid following their previous agreement.

Vincenzo Italiano is hoping to find a more reliable centre forward and his top pick is Udinese’s Beto, who has also attracted attention from the Premier League.

Jovic has scored three goals in 16 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina, lasting netting in their 2-1 win over Salernitana back in November.
