Fiorentina have still not agreed terms with coach Vincenzo Italiano to extend his contract, leading to concerns he could leave to be replaced by Roberto De Zerbi.

The 44-year-old made a huge impression when poached from Spezia, taking the Viola to qualification for the Conference League play-offs as well as the Coppa Italia semi-final, despite losing top scorer Dusan Vlahovic in January.

His current contract runs to June 2023, but there continue to be disagreements between Italiano and the club.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, his agent is asking for over €2m per season net, whereas the maximum offer from Fiorentina is €1.5m per season.

The situation is at a standstill, so much that the Viola are considering alternatives, looking to ex-Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk coach De Zerbi.

The Tuscans are also in talks with Shakhtar Donetsk for right-back Dodo as well as Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, although the forward would be on loan.
