The Federation is hatching a plan to save Parma by loaning the beleagured club €5m to finish the season.

Nobody at the club has been paid since July 2014 and this weekend’s game with Udinese was called off because they don’t have the money for stewards or security at the Stadio Tardini.

Parma are bound to be relegated, as they are already bottom of the table and will be docked more points for financial irregularities, but the two issues now are whether they can finish the season and what to do after that.

If Parma can agree to go into controlled administration – and there is already a bankruptcy hearing set for March 19 – it is possible new owners can get the club ready for Serie B next term.

If not, Parma would be liquidated and a whole new club could begin from the Lega Dilettanti – the amateur league.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the FIGC and Lega Serie A plan to loan Parma €5m so they can see out the season.

That would allow for controlled administration and the club could begin under new ownership from Serie B.

The next patrons would also have to pay back the €5m.

If Parma cannot finish the season, then all previous results will stand and any future fixtures will automatically end 3-0 to their opponents.
