Feyenoord Coach Fred Rutten says his side will be playing to win when they take on Roma in the Europa League tomorrow.

The Dutch side have an away goal after the 1-1 draw in Italy, meaning that a 0-0 would see them progress, but the tactician says they’ll go out to win.

“If you look at last week’s result, it was a good result,” Rutten told journalists in his pre-match Press conference.

“In reality we were fortunate to get the draw. That result is not a guarantee of making the next round.

“We’ll play to win the game. We’re playing a team which knows how to wait and that can strike a killer blow at any time.

“It will be even more difficult that the first leg.

“Dutch players always want to play against the Italians, and it’s always down to small moments to decide the game.

“We all know we had a good result [last week], we did well, but we’re no longer thinking about it. We have to think about the next game.

“We want to go forward and qualify for the next round.”

Rutten also singled Francesco Totti out for praise, warning his players to be alert for 90 minutes.

“He’s very clever, very smart on the pitch, and he’ll punish you when you least expect it.

“When you least expect it he’ll re-appear suddenly and make something happen. He has a lot of experience and talent.

“Maybe you think you have him under the cosh, then he’ll surprise you. [Last week] we stood off him initially, but then we doubled up on him and Gervinho, and that could happen again tomorrow.”
