Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero says the club are working to try and complete Luis Muriel’s transfer from Udinese.

Muriel had been set to join the Blucerchiati, but his current club announced this morning they had called off the deal, ostensibly because Sampdoria were haggling over price.

Ferrero has been meeting with the Colombian forward and his agent in a Genoa hotel, and spoke to Sky outside.

“Will Muriel arrive? I hope so, with all my heart,” the Samp patron said.

“The Pozzo family are reasonable people, we’re working on reaching an agreement with Udinese which above all protects the lad.”
