Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero assures Coach Marco Giampaolo has “my total and unconditional faith” but is disappointed by the Palermo draw.

“Giampaolo has my total and unconditional faith,” Ferrero told Il Secolo XIX.

“I’ve always said he’s the greatest maestro of football, and maestri must be given time. He’s very linear, but with a few curveballs he could give us some nice surprises, I’ll tell him that.

“This third year of my Presidency is about reaching maturity, no more experiments.

“I want to win, which is why we’ve reinvested all the money we brought in into a strong team which should win at home to Palermo, not get a last-gasp draw.

“We have many young talented players, and a maestro to Coach them, so I’m convinced we’ll have a good season.”
