Under-21 Coach and Napoli legend Ciro Ferrara hailed their win over Manchester City, but warned “they still have to go to Spain.”

Last night’s 2-1 victory puts Napoli in an excellent position to qualify for the Champions League knockouts.

They will go through as long as they win away to Villarreal, who have lost all five games so far in Group A, or at least match City’s result against Bayern Munich.

“I am so happy for Napoli, as they proved that when the draw in the ‘Group of Death’ was made, the other teams were the ones who should’ve been worried,” said Ferrara.

“I was at the San Paolo and saw a very intense encounter. The fans are fantastic and I should know the love for these colours, as I played here for 10 years.

“However, Napoli are mature enough to know they haven’t qualified yet. They still have to go to Spain and face an already-eliminated team who won’t want to look bad in front of their supporters.”
