“The more we play, the better our chances of getting in sync. We must remember that there is no such thing as a friendly at this level, especially when wearing the Italy shirt.

“In Italian club football it is especially difficult to get ready for non-competitive games, as players struggle to find the right mentality. We have to remember that we're honouring the Azzurri jersey, so must always go for the victory.

“A win also helps us with our self-belief in the work we are doing.”
