Ciro Ferrara has called up Enzo Maresca for Sampdoria’s match with Siena and warns “we must remain humble” after beating Milan.

The Blucerchiati made their Serie A comeback last week and shocked San Siro with a 1-0 victory, so many would assume they are the favourites tomorrow evening when Siena come to visit. Click here for a match preview.

“We are two teams fighting for the same objective, which is to secure safety,” assured Ferrara.

“Picking up points in these games is very important. We must remain humble and keep our feet on the ground.

“Above all it will be important to be solid and leave few spaces to our opponents. We are a side who absolutely need points and have to fight for each one with the dagger between our teeth.”

Juan Antonio is the only injury absentee, while new signing Maresca is in the squad after completing the transfer from Malaga.

“We achieved our transfer objectives,” added Ferrara. “The market was a little static in Italy due to the financial crisis and mainly consisted of loan deals. I thank the club for investing in the squad, even though they are forced to keep paying for players who are not part of the plans.”

Sampdoria squad for Siena: Berni, Falcone, Romero; Berardi, Castellini, Costa, De Silvestri, Gastaldello, Mustafi, Rossini; Krsticic, Maresca, Munari, Obiang, Poli, Renan, Soriano, Tissone; Eder, Estigarribia, Icardi, Maxi Lopez, Pozzi
