Ciro Ferrara has hinted at “a different Sampdoria to the one seen recently” when they try to end a six-game losing streak in Palermo.

The former Italy Under-21 Coach had stuck to his guns with a 4-3-3 system, but six consecutive defeats have left them floundering.

“I don’t want to give away too much, but we could present a different Sampdoria to the one seen recently,” said Ferrara in his Press conference.

“We are coming from a difficult time and are missing several important players, but my lads are ready. We want to achieve a positive result.”

Andrea Poli has been left behind suffering from a bout of flu, but Daniele Gastaldello and Marcelo Estigarribia are included.

“Winning at Palermo would be important for everyone at and around the club, bringing badly needed confidence.

“We are facing a team that is also in difficulty, but keep the tempo high. At the moment this is a head-to-head relegation dogfight.”
