Mati Fernandez’s agent reveals “we reached a deal with Fiorentina a long time ago” for a contract renewal.
It was announced today that the Chilean midfielder had signed an extension until 2018, prolonging his stay in Florence by two years.
“We are very happy,” Fernandez’s agent Alejandro Santisteban told FirenzeViola.
“Matias is doing very well in Florence, both personally and professionally.

“We reached a deal with Fiorentina a long time ago, but the club has chosen today to make it official, and we respect that decision.
“He’s renewed with the Viola because he feels part of the project, and he’s convinced he can help the team achieve the ambitious goals they’ve set themselves this season.
“There’s always been interest from other clubs, but now Mati is exclusively focused on getting back on the pitch.
“In the last few months he’s had serious problems with with a tooth which stopped him training properly, and now he has to get back to feeling like a key man.”
