“Stefano is doing well,” the representative stated. “He’s working hard and with a lot of enthusiasm to be back in action as soon as possible.

“I think that we’ll see him back towards the end of February, I doubt that it will be before then in all honesty.

“He starts his rehabilitation programme at seven in the morning and he doesn’t finish until seven in the evening.

“He is undergoing a range of different treatments in his effort to fully recover.”

Mauri, 31, has made just two Serie A appearances for Lazio this term – totalling 116 minutes of action.
