Inzaghi tested positive for COVID and missed Lazio’s last two games, including their thrilling 5-3 victory over his brother Filippo’s side Benevento today.

“I spoke with Simone before the game, as it always happens. We hope he can join the team in Naples next week," Farris told Sky Sport Italia.

“The team dedicates this victory to the coach, and he told me to compliment the lads. We didn’t give up, and we deserve the praise for that. We’ll analyse what hasn’t worked.

“We know Inzaghi is not physically with us, but he always makes his presence felt. I speak more often with him than with my wife.

“We played a great first half when we were always in control of the game. Then we made a mistake, and we complicated our plans, we risked a lot.

“It shouldn’t have happened, but we never gave up, and we reacted. I will watch Napoli’s game this evening to study them, and from tomorrow, we start preparing the next game against them."
