Inter have officially extended Under-21 international Marco Davide Faraoni’s contract to June 2016.

The midfielder scored his debut Serie A goal on Saturday in the 5-0 demolition of Parma and this afternoon the club announced he had signed a new deal.

“I am very, very happy and this is a great honour for me,” said Faraoni on Inter Channel.

“I was so pleased to be called by the club and they proved how much they value me here. It was a very important sign.

“I’ll be honest, I try not to think about the money, but for a family like mine I have to admit without football we’d never have seen figures like this in our lives.

“I really want to do well at Inter, even more so when I think of how many sacrifices my family made for me. I just want them to be happy and not want for anything. When I am having difficulty, I think of them and realise only by working can I make things easier for them.”
