According to La Repubblica newspaper, they could have the key to the deal in the form of Iago Falque, who has struggled for playing time since Luciano Spalletti took over from Rudi Garcia.

Peres is seen as the ideal replacement for aging Douglas Maicon, as Alessandro Florenzi will move into a more advanced role.

Florenzi had been pulled back into the defence to cover up the gaps, but can now return to his original position.

As Peres is rated at around €10m and is under contract with Torino until 2020, Roma hope to lower the price by including Iago Falque as part of an exchange deal.
