Monaco striker Radamel Falcao was spotted in Rome on Monday, fuelling links with Lazio and Milan.

Corriere dello Sport reports Falcao landed in the afternoon and ‘tried not to be recognised’ as he spent the day in the Italian capital.

The newspaper also notes the proximity of the Colombian’s trip with tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg between Lazio and Milan, suggesting he used it to ‘get closer’ to one of the two clubs.

The 33-year-old is expected to leave Monaco this summer, despite having little under 18 months left on his contract.

Lazio would liken his arrival to their deal for Miroslav Klose in 2011, Germany’s all-time top goalscorer going on to end his career with the Aquile.

They are also described as having a ‘good relationship’ with Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes, whose clients Bruno Jordao, Pedro Neto and Wallace are already on the club’s books.

Milan, meanwhile, considered the former Atletico Madrid hitman before they signed Gonzalo Higuain and could draw on his experience if they qualify for the Champions League.
