Juventus star Angel Di Maria has denied reports that he and his compatriot Leandro Paredes have asked their club not to play in the November fixture before the World Cup.

Reports in Argentina suggest the AFA expect their players not to be involved in the final league games of the year before the World Cup.

The competition starts on November 20 and the South Americans make their debut two days later against Saudi Arabia.

Paredes and Di Maria are expected to make it into the Argentina squad for Qatar 2020, but El Fideo has denied that they will ask Juventus not to be involved in the last game before the competition begins.

The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United star shared an Instagram post claiming that he and his compatriot wants to avoid injuries before Qatar 2022, so they’ll ask Juventus not to play against Lazio on November 13.

Di Maria wrote ‘Fake news’, adding an emoji that clearly explains his disappointment.

El Fideo joined Juventus in the summer, signing a one-year deal and could return to Rosario Central in 2023.

  1. CALMAAA!!!

A wise move as even former players have admitted that the training schedule is light, a farce and dedicated to only the back, back, down, down. Flinstone football factory Max produces them like none other.
