“Everybody tells me that I play better on the left, but I like to play more through the middle,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“I’ve always played there. The coach tried me on the left last season, and I think I did well.
“In that position I scored more goals, but the reason is simple: playing on the left lets me have more freedom of movement and be more present in the penalty area.”
The Partenopei finished second in Serie A but some 11 points behind champions Juve, so how does the 23-year-old see next season panning out?
“We’ll try to get closer, even it’s not easy because they have a great team. We tried but didn’t succeed last season,” he explained.
“I’m sure we’ll end up fighting them for the Scudetto next season.”
