Massimo Moratti has conceded that the English Football Association blocked Inter's bid to net Fabio Capello.

The Italian giants made a move for the England boss given that Leonardo is on the verge of leaving San Siro for a director's role at Paris SG.

"The English FA wouldn't consent to his arrival," the Nerazzurri President said outside of his offices this afternoon.

"They blocked everything as they want to keep him with them at all costs," continued the oil baron.

Inter's failure to firstly land Marcelo Bielsa and now Capello had led to reports that Gian Piero Gasperini is the new favourite for the job.

"No, he's not the favourite," Moratti responded. "You'll have to wait and see who the favourite is, you'll have to wait for us to tell you that.

"Nevertheless, nothing will be decided today. We'll choose in the next few days."

Fiorentina's Sinisa Mihajlovic remains a contender, as does former Palermo boss Delio Rossi.

Andre Villas Boas won't arrive as he's moved even closer to joining Chelsea today, while Guus Hiddink has committed himself to the Turkey national side.
