Italy international Wilfried Gnonto could remain in the Premier League next season, as Everton are reportedly in talks with Leeds United.

The versatile wide attacker was brought in last summer from FC Zurich at a cost of €4.5m and was able to contribute four goals and four assists in 28 competitive matches.

However, he was unable to prevent Leeds sliding down into the Championship at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old is unlikely to remain with the club after relegation, but Football Transfers suggest he could stay in England regardless, as Everton have made an approach to Leeds for both Gnonto and Jack Harrison.

Arsenal had also been linked with Gnonto, although they have turned their focus to other targets.

He started this afternoon’s 3-2 Nations League victory against the Netherlands, which represented his 11th senior cap.

Gnonto can play on the left or right of a trident attack, or as a support striker for the centre-forward, and came up through the Inter youth academy.
