The draw for next summer’s tournament in France was performed in Paris today.

It is a new expanded competition, which means the top two sides from each group will progress, plus the four best third-place finishers.

The Group of Death looks to be E with Belgium, Italy, Sweden and the Republic of Ireland.

Gianni De Biasi’s debutants Albania go into Group A with hosts France, Romania and Switzerland.

There is a British Derby in Group B with England and Wales, joined by Russia and Slovakia.

Italy begin their campaign against Belgium on June 13 in Lyon.

They then take on Sweden in Toulouse on June 17 and finish with Ireland in Lille on June 22.

To make matters even worse, Group E is statistically the toughest to be in going forward. The runners-up in Group E will face the winners of Group F in the next phase.
