Samuel Eto’o has arrived in Rome for his medical to complete a transfer to Sampdoria.

The Everton striker was driven to the Villa Stuart clinic, where he was greeted by representatives from the Genoa club.

He is due to undergo a medical, then be presented to the fans ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Serie A game against Palermo.

The Cameroon international is expected to sign a 30-month contract with performance-related bonuses rather than a transfer fee given to Everton.

Sampdoria released the following image on their Twitter account this afternoon.

“Eto’o is added to this squad, but must not be a distraction,” said Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic ahead of the Palermo match.

“We are third thanks to the lads who are still here and have been working every day for the club.

“We need to stay calm and focused on the game ahead.”
