Former Roma boss Luis Enrique has said his experience with the Giallorossi would have been even worse if not for a psychologist.

Enrique was speaking at an event promoting the use of psychology in sport.

“Fortunately me and my staff had Joaquin Valdes with us in Rome, otherwise things would have been much worse,” remarked the ex Barca B Coach.

“As a Coach, I understand that the presence of a psychologist is important. Footballers are people like everybody else, with their fears and problems.”

Enrique left the Eternal City in May after a stressful debut season in Serie A. Roma finished seventh under his stewardship, losing both derbies with Lazio” data-scaytid=”5″>Lazio and failing to qualify for Europe.
