The 25-year-old spent four years with United’s Premier League rivals Liverpool, prior to joining the Bianconeri in the summer of 2018.
He made 37 appearances for the Old Lady with Max Allegri at the helm last season, winning a Scudetto.
However, he has lost his place in the squad following Maurizio Sarri’s appointment over the summer.
