While Juventus have already said they’ll try again for Emre Can once his contract with Liverpool expires, they could also bid in January.

The Germany international will be a free agent at the end of this season and Tuttosport suggest he’s got a five-year contract lined up in Turin.

Juve may well not want to wait that long and a new January proposal – at a much lower figure than the €25m bid this summer – is forthcoming.

Can would be cup-tied for the Champions League, but Max Allegri likes to give new players plenty of time to acclimatise and settle in, especially if they are coming from abroad.

He is the ideal candidate for Allegri, as he can play in midfield or even as a centre-back.
