Paris Saint-Germain Coach Unai Emery hopes Blaise Matuidi “continues to progress in his career” after joining Juventus.

The midfielder took his medicals with the Bianconeri over the past two days, and officially joined this afternoon.

“First of all, we were very happy with Matuidi,” Emery said in his Press conference this afternoon.

“He was an important player for us, and he was the heart of the team in many important moments last season, but also throughout his career in Paris.

“He was looking for a good opportunity and he’s chosen to have an opportunity with another team.

“It’s for that reason that I wish him well, and I hope he continues to progress in his career in the future.

“We’ll continue on our way, we have young players who we want to see grow here like [Adrien] Rabiot, [Christopher] Nkunku or other players.

“Football is evolution, and in this evolution Matuidi looked for other options and decided to leave.”
