The Elliott Group have reportedly given Milan the green light to match Franck Kessie’s demands and renew with the Ivorian midfielder.

Corriere della Sera reports Milan have offered Kessie €5.5m to sign a new deal at San Siro, but the former Atalanta midfielder asks for €6m to renew.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu both moved on free transfers after their contracts expired and Milan are trying to avoid a similar situation for the 24-year-old.

The managers in Via Aldo Rossi are trying to do all it takes to convince Kessie to stay, as his contract expires in June 2022.

The report claims the Elliott fund are giving the go ahead to negotiate terms and get as close as possible to the required amount.

Ivory Coast international Kessie is set to play at the Olympics in the coming weeks, but the Rossoneri managers will meet with George Atangana, who represents the player.

The newspaper reveals the Diavolo aims to close a deal with the player who arrived at Milan in July 2017.
