Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy today returned to training with the first team squad after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The 21-year-old has been missing for the Rossoneri with a foot injury but has now taken a step closer to making his comeback.

The player’s brother and agent told MilanNews.it that the Azzurri international could not wait to get back out on the pitch.

“Stephan is in good shape,” Manuel El Shaarawy said today. “Today he returned to the group and he will play in the Primavera team next week.

“His recovery is going very well and he is following a day by day programme. There is no rush.

“We want to do everything calmly so that he makes a full recovery.

“He obviously can’t wait to get back playing, that’s normal. He’s very motivated and is pleased with the team’s good recent performances.

“He could return to play some minutes against Padova in Inzaghi’s Primavera team next week.”
