“The injury happened after an unlucky incident at the 95th minute against Lazio. It’s getting better every day and until I can start rehabilitation, I am doing some work in the gym on other areas.

“Psychologically I am doing fine. I have already been through this sort of situation, so I can face it in a more relaxed manner. I just want to recover fully and know it’s a less serious injury than last time.”

Milan are struggling in Serie A with just one victory in 2015, leaving them in 12th place.

“It is not an easy time, but we have to unite as a team and be more aware of our capabilities. We must take it one game at a time. A month ago we were seen as Champions League candidates, now as if we’re heading for relegation. We just have to focus on doing our best.”

The poor results have seen Inzaghi’s position placed in doubt too.

“The Coach is giving his all, just like the team. We have great faith in him, he’s a great Coach and a wonderful person. We are all with Inzaghi.”
