Radja Nainggolan cancelled out an Ivan Perisic opener in the 1-1 result at the Stadio Olimpico.

“After we got back into it, we really wanted to win and had the chances, as Inter ran out of steam,” SES told Sky Sport Italia.

“Considering the way things were going, it’s a good point we can take home. It was a good Roma in fits and starts, Inter came out stronger for the second half, but we did well to get it back on track.

“We lacked consistency in front of goal and it’s a shame to end the run of eight consecutive victories, but it’s a good result.

“Our objective is third place. If we get closer to Napoli then that’s even better, but considering where we were eight rounds ago we can be happy.”

El Shaarawy’s fine form since joining Roma in January has seen him earn a call-up for Italy’s friendlies against Spain and Germany.

“I am happy to have been called up by Italy, as the Nazionale and taking part in the Euros are important objectives for me.”
