“The President is happy with what we’ve achieved so far, but we certainly all want to raise the bar,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We know full well that there are various stepping stones on the way up in this growth process. We hope to put together a positive run of results.

“It is only right to dream and hope. Once we have achieved safety, we need to look forward to the next objective and keep pushing ourselves.”

Sassuolo go into this game one point ahead of Lazio, who are the only remaining Italian in the Europa League after eliminating Galatasaray.

“Lazio are coming off a positive period of form and showed they are in good shape in the Europa League,” continued Di Francesco.

“Stefano Pioli has several options he can count on in attack and the team can adapt to various different situations. Their midfield and wingers have excellent quality too.

“I maintain Lucas Biglia is one of the best midfielders in Serie A. I envy their potential, but I am perfectly happy with the squad at my disposal, as I have many young players who want to break out and are ready to do what I ask.

“We will always play to improve and do our best. I always said that once we achieved safety it was only right to look forward and I won’t back down now.

“Obviously there is a gap, but we can whittle it down in the next two games against Lazio and Milan.”
