Following the 2-1 defeat against Simone Inzaghi’s team, the Neroverdi have now failed to win in three Serie A matches and have had to make do with a host of injuries of late, prompting the Coach to change formation for Sunday’s trip to Stadio Olimpico.

“I liked our performance but suddenly we found ourselves two goals down, one of which was clearly offside,” Di Francesco said after the final whistle in Rome.

“Lately the referees have been whistling in one direction a little bit. At the end we had a great chance, it’s a shame because we didn’t deserve the defeat.

“We interpreted the formation change well. Of course it is normal that continuity brings results, but the boys are growing a lot.”
