“It’ll be my 200th Serie A match as a Coach, although if you hadn’t told me that, I wouldn’t have noticed,” said Di Francesco in his Press conference.
“It’s a nice achievement and I hope to celebrate it with a Roma victory. Atalanta are a team with a precise identity and know how they want to play. They’ve had seven very strong performances so far this season and fully deserved to beat Copenhagen on Thursday.”
The Orobici have been through two Europa League preliminary rounds already and drew the first leg of the play-off 0-0 this week, despite dominating the game.
Roma needed a last-gasp Edin Dzeko volley to get the better of Torino, from a Justin Kluivert assist.
“Kluivert is ready to start or to come off the bench and is adapting very well. He is one of several players in the balance between the starting XI and the role of substitute to shake things up.”
Pastore made his Roma debut against Torino as a midfielder, but seemed somewhat lost.
“I am evaluating a possible change of position to the left side of the attack, but that is no surprise. If you look carefully at the Torino game, he moved between the forwards more than act as a classic midfielder.
“We expect more quality from him, regardless of the role. We saw very little of it against Torino, because I could even use him as a centre-forward, but if he misplaces five out of seven passes, it won’t make much difference where he’s played.
“Pastore needs to rediscover his confidence so that he can use his quality to help the team. I am trying to adapt players with quality in the final pass so they can push up, for example the way Simone Perrotta did many years ago.”
