Eusebio Di Francesco praised Roma for their 4-1 victory over Chievo and wants them to face Liverpool “knowing we’ve done all we possibly could.”

The Giallorossi were only 2-0 up this evening when Juan Jesus was sent off and Alisson saved a Roberto Inglese penalty, but still added another two goals when down to 10 men.

“The team proved it could approach this game in the right way, which was complicated in terms of mentality. They deserved a few more goals, while the dubious penalty could’ve changed the game. Alisson must’ve been fired up after conceding five in Liverpool,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

That 5-2 first leg defeat leaves their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread, but Roma have been here before.

“Now we have to recover our physical and mental energy, leave the field on Wednesday knowing we’ve done all we possibly could. We’ve proved in the past that we can achieve great results in the Champions League, so we must all believe, that is my slogan.”

Patrik Schick was on target today, his second goal in as many Serie A matches, so will he start against Liverpool?

“It’s also a tactical issue. Schick is the proof that when you find that mental strength and confidence, you can hit great heights regardless of the tactics, as today he played in a wider role, which people had said he wasn’t suited to.”
