Eder reassured fans over his injury and was impressed with the 4-2-4 system as Italy beat Norway 2-1.

The Sampdoria striker went off when the Norwegians were leading 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

“I already had a knock to the knee against Azerbaijan, so it was a bit painful at the time, but nothing serious,” he told Rai Sport.

“I thought we did well. Norway scored on their only chance, which was on a set play, and we dominated other than that.

“These crosses kept coming in and we couldn’t score. Once we moved to 4-2-4, the side did very well indeed.

“You can see the determination of the Coach in this side and the work we do in training. The second goal was wonderful, as we often try these moves in training.”

Eder is currently Capocannoniere in Serie A, so can he take that top scorer title?

“I’ll try, but we’ll see!”
