Edin Dzeko criticised Roma’s tactics and fitness levels after a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid, as he felt more isolated in attack.

“I think we saw some good things, as we did against Inter for the first 70 minutes, but a team like ours cannot keep playing like this for the final 20 minutes,” Dzeko told Mediaset Premium.

The Giallorossi had dominated Inter for long periods before losing 3-1 at home with a late collapse and risked the same this evening, but Alisson was decisive in goal.

“It’s true we need time and patience, but it was very important to get this point, also for our morale going forward.”

Dzeko was asked if he preferred playing in Luciano Spalletti’s system or under Eusebio Di Francesco.

“It’s just the beginning. I scored many goals last season, this year it’s tougher and I didn’t touch the ball many times tonight. Hopefully in the next few games I can get more touches so I can score some goals.

“We feel the absence of Mohamed Salah and also Checco (Totti), while Radja Nainggolan played closer to me too. Now they are all a little more distant from me than they were before, but we’re getting used to it.”
