Paulo Dybala said ‘there will be time to talk about the future,’ but also assured he has two years left on his Roma contract and is truly won over by the fans.

The Giallorossi needed a victory against Spezia this evening to be sure of sixth place and Europa League qualification, so La Joya had all the pressure on him when stepping up to convert a 90th-minute penalty for the 2-1 result.

“It was a very difficult match, but we were fighting for a place in Europe, the team gave everything it had and we won,” Dybala told DAZN.

The mood could’ve been downbeat at the Stadio Olimpico just days after losing the Europa League Final to Sevilla in a penalty shoot-out, but instead the crowd was right behind their players and coach Jose Mourinho.

“The people are incredible, even after losing a Final, they filled the stadium. They were by our side all season, they deserved to celebrate this European qualification today.”

Dybala was asked if he wants to continue at Roma for a long time, especially with Mourinho.

“It is important that we enjoy this moment, there will be time to talk about the future. I still have two years left on my contract.”

There is a release clause in Dybala’s deal worth just €12m for clubs outside of Serie A, but that could be annulled if his salary is increased from the current €4.5m per season to €6m.
